It’s about trying to save one of the world’s oldest nations from being broken up by conniving British establishment and Brussels elite. It’s about giving the 50 million people in England a national democratic voice through our own legislative parliament something that every other western nation has as of right. It’s about fairness, national empowerment and the positive cultural recognition of England.
For too long, England has been buried under a British identity of convenience by Labour, the Tories and the Liberal Democrats. For too long, England has been shamelessly abused, compromised and pillaged by successive Westminster administrations. We are not a disparate collection of Euro regions; we are not a cash cow for the benefit of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland; ‘We’ are England, a proud and historic nation! How ironic then that England, the originator of the modern two tier parliamentary system, copied by every other western nation is unique in being denied even the most basic of democratic rights and cultural expression.
Over the past decade, New Labour has been engaged in a programme of English national eradication. They have continued the work of the Tories before them - and with the ever willing help of the Liberal Democrats.
The three main parties led, mainly by politicians from other countries within the UK, have wrecked England. They have split us into EU regions that take no account of local loyalties or the nature of our communities. The English Democrats will fight to restore traditional values, re-establish our traditional counties, towns and villages and put the people of England first in their own country.
The English Democrats are the only political party fighting to preserve our country from the hostile hands of Westminster and Brussels.

Frog March

The British establishment are frog marching us down a one way street into a Europe run by un-elected dictators who want to see England fragmented into a permanent jigsaw of ineffective subservient regions. If that is what you want then vote for one of the 3 main parties. If not; resistance has to start locally at grassroots, that is why it is so important to vote for a return to English Values and Freedoms.

The Fog of Transparency

Conservative and Unionist Party leader David Cameron has suggested that the current debacle surrounding MPs’ expenses is a danger to democracy and has called for “transparency” on claims made upon the taxpayer by MPs for essential expenditure. Millions of people in England now consider themselves to be “robbed” by their elected parliamentary representatives.
Many more consider themselves to have been "robbed" twice by MPs sitting in English constituencies. Not only are English taxes filling MPs’ boots all over the UK, but MPs in England make sure that people in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland receive more public spending per person than those in England by virtue of the Barnett Formula. We have to ask, what use are UK MPs to English voters? It is not just MPs’ expenses that need transparency.
The system of subsidies, allocation of public sector jobs, tendering of public contracts as well as the Barnett Formula all need clarifying. In many ways the Barnett Formula is just the tip of the iceberg sinking England. David Cameron says democracy is damaged by the current expenses scandal. English democracy has not only been damaged, it is being systematically destroyed since devolution.
Unelected regional quangos now control much of English domestic policy, such as planning, policing and healthcare. Democracy must be restored with an English Parliament being established with the same powers as those of the Scottish Parliament. Wales and N. Irleand should also have their assemblies upgraded to full parliaments. All four devolved parliaments must then have total fiscal and spending control, and any shortfalls made up from UK central government, in a fully federal system.
Naturally, the UK Parliament would be vastly reduced in the number of MPs, therefore pleasing taxpayers. These are the only measures that can now restore the electorate’s confidence in politicians and the democratic process, not only in England, but the whole of the UK. If anything can save Labour, Conservatives and Liberal Democrats it is support for the establishment of an English Parliament and each of those parties needs to wake up, smell the coffee and actually listen to the majority of English opinion very quickly - or face oblivion.
Thanks to Steve

Happy Birthday Devolution

Happy birthday devolution, happy birthday to you..Happy birthday devolution, happy birthday to you..Hoorah!!!!

This week is the 10th anniversary of devolution, so they'll be having a party in Scotland and Wales!!! (but who will be paying for it?). It was on this day, 10 years ago that voters in Scotland and Wales put an 'X' in the box - and in doing so, confirmed their hard won national democratic credentials by voting in their very own First Minister and their very own national legislature. Excuse me while I refuse the trifle, jellies, paper hat and party bag - but I'm just not in the party mood at the moment. Come to think of it, I haven't even received an invite to the devolution party yet. Maybe it'll be in the next post. Or more likely it won't. For me, along with the entire adult population of England have yet to be invited to the devolution party. The grotesque unfairness of New Labour's devolution programme has over the past 10 years sown the seeds for discord, mistrust and disintegration within the union. Thanks to New Labour, 85% of the UK population are without any national voice. Thanks to New Labour, England is now the only country in Europe without a national legislature. How shameful an indictment is that - especially when our defacto First Minister, no-mandate-man, Gordon Brown makes such a big deal on Britain being the natural home of fairness.... If you want a national parliament for England (the oldest nation state in Europe), then vote ENGLISH DEMOCRATS on June 4th. After all, I seem to remember a watery eyed Tony Blair telling us that the real dividend for invading Iraq was to bring democracy to millions of Iraqis - what a pity he didn't feel the need to bring his democratic zeal closer to home......

Why we need our Own Parliament!

Not only are English interests, culture and nationhood ignored in that we English are denied a public holiday on St George’s Day, more importantly, we are denied equal treatment within the UK with the other UK nations all of whom have their own parliament or assembly. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have all had referendums on whether or not they wanted their own national governments. The English have not, nor were our interests taken into account when devolution was foisted upon us. Scots and Welsh MPs continue to vote on English affairs in the House of Commons – and in the House of Lords [which tends to be overlooked]. Large subsidies continue to be paid to Scotland and Wales and we English have no say in this, nor are our interests taken into account. The fiddled voting in the House of Commons is not the only way in which Labour are vote rigging. We have the current absurdity of constituencies in Scotland having as few voters as 21,500 while in England the Isle of Wight, for example, has 109,000 voters. Welsh constituencies have a target quota of 55,640 voters whereas English constituencies have 69,934. Scottish citizens have £1,500 per head more spent on them than their English counterparts. The budget for an English school meal is around 40 pence each when in Scotland the budget is around £1. English children are condemned to be the Turkey Twizzler generation. In Scotland there are free prescriptions, free residential care for the elderly and no top-up fees for students. In England pensioners homes are seized to pay for residential care. Scotland can afford all such things because of a large English subsidy, about which the English have no say because they have no parliament to represent their interests. There needs to be a referendum in England to give the people of England the opportunity to vote for an English parliament. Opinion polls have shown that increasing numbers of favour the creation of such a parliament in order to redress the constitutional imbalance caused by Labour’s devolution settlement. There also needs to be reform of the House of Lords, which has been comprehensively packed with Tony’s cronies.

Is England a Democracy?

IS ENGLAND A DEMOCRACY?

We English have been denied our democratic rights regarding the devolution settlement imposed on England by Labour – and, importantly, which neither the Tories nor the Liberal Democrats seek to change. We have been doubled crossed by both Labour and the Liberal Democrats regarding the commitment to hold a referendum on the new EU treaty, now called the Lisbon Treaty. We have swindled out of a democratic reform of the House of Lords. Instead of creating an elected chamber, Labour have simply removed the independent hereditary peers and stuffed the place with their own favourites and donors. In fact, the British ruling class holds the ordinary English people in contempt. In June there are the EU elections when we are supposed to express our views on the EU. In reality, we have little influence. We were last consulted about the EU in a referendum in 1975. Since then, the Common Market has evolved into the European Union and has acquired far greater powers to rule over us. The overwhelming majority of laws now originate from the undemocratic EU. Opinion polls have shown that an overwhelming majority of our people want a trade only relationship with the EU. In 2007 it was estimated that the cost of the EU was no less than £60.1billion to the UK as a whole [CAP costing at least £15.6billion, and red tape costing at least £26billion]. A recent opinion poll showed that 41% of the people wanted a trade only relationship with the EU and another 27% wanted to withdraw altogether. Our sovereignty, money and freedoms have been and continue to be frittered away by unprincipled politicians. The time has come for us to have a proper referendum, not only on the Lisbon Treaty, but also on our future relationship with the EU. LET THE ENGLISH PEOPLE DECIDE! English Democrats - the only political party campaigning for English interests to be fairly treated.
